Hey guys been here for awhile now, if you all didnt know, IMU has been on holiday since friday , cos of the raya n deepavali holiday! So my mum decided to drag me down to johor with her to do do some relative visiting, and look for some curtains n stuff. There really isnt much todo in johor, so i went outfor a movie, and i watched The Prestige

Chans Movie Review - The Prestige

Centering around 2 dudes, hugh jackman and christian bale, and the ooh-la-la Scarlett Johansson ( the other two dudes dont deserve capitals in their name = ). As most of you all can tell my the previews, its a show about ''magician''

Giving a lil peek in to the story, the two young men begin as sort of backstages and 'fake audiences'' in a magic show by another magician, partiarly students to a the engineer, the guys that does the props. One day during doing a trick, one of the assistant messes up ( or did he? ) and accidentally ( quoted, accidents are but well planned chain of events ) kills the magicians assistant, which was a wife to one of the guys.

Following that, the two men soon part ways and begin doing their own stage shows, riding to equal fame in their profession of magic. However they continously begrudge each other and try to out do the other in any matter, vile or honest, with dire consequences ( no movie is complete without tragedy right... remember MAFIA, where the eskimo speared barney at the end of the movie ?, i love that )

Great show on deceit, revenge, manipulation, insight into each others minds, and ultimately showing how far one can go to achieve their ends, how much sacrifice you are willing to take to push the envelope of immoral limits.

Kinda makes you wonder what you'd do to remove your top rival pharmacist, surgeon or scientist eh?

The Banquet

Basic plot as you can tell from the preview where the Emperors's brother usurps the throne and the Crown Prince is some dancing sucker with good kungfu. However the show really scores on its presentation eg its art, backdrop, musical scores which gives a real good blend into the show. Evidently full of symbolism, as you will witness in the final scene of the show if you follow it closely, the conversation. ( omg i can understand here n there , i feel so proud = D)

plus, zhang zi yi is real hot in da movie, n does the poker face real good.

Wow, i must be really bored to be doing movie reviews. Just watched Matrix revolution, with my non english speaking cousin. I told her its about :

'' dian nao gen ren da zhang '' -----> literal n stupid translation,the mandarins probably wrong too = ''computer n human war''.

She was laughing at me all the way, even till the end point where Agent Smith jammed his hand into ne-o ( funny,thats what the subs call him ) and i said:

'' ta ( neo ) rang Smith xiansheng sha ta, ying wei , ne-o shi virus, yong ziji sha Smith xiansheng ''
i was TRYINGTOSAY:
Neo let Agent Smith to kill him ( by jamming his hand in to him) so that he could spread the virus within him to kill Agent Smith.

Curse of the banana is taking its time to wear off.

Btw can someone tell me what '' House of Flying Daggers'' is in mandarin? It certainly isnt '' fei dao de jia '' --> Confirmed by a laughing cousin
